Oden A. Weston of Swartz Creek, age 91, died August 20, 2025 surrounded by his family. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday August 26, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Louis Ekka officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at New Calvary Cemetery. Those desiring can make contributions for Masses said in Oden’s memory or to the Swartz Creek Community Food Basket. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, from 4:00-8:00 pm at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, MI 48473, with a scripture service to be held at 7:00pm.
Oden was born and raised in Flint, Michigan and resided in Swartz Creek for the past 56 years. He was the son of Earl and Marion (Richardson) Weston. Oden served in the US Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne from 1958-1960. Although Oden did not go overseas he was very proud to be a paratrooper and ready and willing to serve his country.
Oden married Angela Chojnowski on May 20, 1967. Together they had two children Stephen and Christine. His family was the love of his life. At the age of 17 Oden started working at Buick Motor Division in Flint, Michigan. He worked there until his retirement in 1993.
Oden loved camping and touring every nook and cranny in the state of Michigan. He also loved working on his antique car.
Oden is survived by his wife Angie and son Stephen, also by two loving nieces Yvonne Mattison and her husband Brett and Dana McFarland and her husband Perry and their families and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his darling daughter Christine Marie, also brothers Howard Weston and Lee Weston and sisters Vivian Stratton and Arlene Rhoads.
