PITTSLEY, Opal (Hale), lovingly known as "O-Pal" - Age 88, of Fenton, passed away August 29, 2013 in East Tawas, MI. Opal was born in Dye, VA, to Arthur "Doc" and Donna Hale on March 23, 1925. She graduated from Grundy High School in 1943. Opal worked at the Pentagon during WWII. She was involved in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Flint, MI Power Squadron. She enjoyed hosting get togethers with family and friends, cooking, gardening, reading and traveling. Surviving are: children, Danney (Gloria) Pittsley, Diane (Larry Karns) Darling, Ronald (Cathy) Pittsley; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Taylor; brother, William Hale; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Saul "Dan" Pittsley; brothers, Ron and Elmer "Shag" and grandson, Kristopher Pittsley. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, with Pastor Rob Nordin officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Monday. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Rolling Acres Adult Foster Home for the support in her final months.
