Patricia Ann “Pattie” Britton, age 66, went to sleep peacefully and woke up in Heaven on September 7, 2026. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the Sharp Funeral Homes - Miller Road Chapel located at 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Michigan 48473. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.
Pattie was born in Flint, Michigan, on November 5, 1959, to Bill and Judith Bollinger. She grew up in Mount Morris, Michigan, and graduated from Mount Morris High School in 1977.
Pattie began her career with Flint Community Schools, where she met the love of her life, John Britton. The two were married on December 1, 2002, and shared many wonderful years together. Pattie retired from Flint Community Schools in 2009.
There were many things Pattie enjoyed throughout her life, but nothing meant more to her than her family. Being a wife and mother brought her great joy, but becoming a grandmother took her love to a whole new level. She adored her grandchildren & great grandchildren “to the moon and beyond.” If you ever wanted to get a conversation started with Pattie, all you had to do was ask about one of her grandchildren. You would quickly hear one story after another, each told with the love and pride she had for them.
Pattie will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, John Britton; her son, Joe Novak and wife Carol; her daughter, Angela Snider; and her seven grandchildren, Makayla Novak, Isabelle Novak, Peyton Novak, Christian Novak, Austin Snider, Freya Novak, and Danica Novak. Step-sons, Jason (Rachel) Britton; Jonathon Britton and Kristopher (Renee) Britton. Step-grandchildren, Morgan (Charles) Sparks; Emmary (Brandon) Lindner; Moira Britton; Sophia Britton; Ayler Britton; Blake (Angel) Britton; Gavin Britton; Cameron Britton. Great grandchildren, Sloan Sparks; Braxton Britton and Nolan Britton.
She is also survived by her brother, Mike Bollinger (Teresa); sisters, Vicky Lewis (Larry) and Sheila Limmer (Dave); brothers-in-law, Bernie Britton (Layla), Robert Britton (Tracy), and Steven Britton (Laurie); sister-in-law, Terry Edwards (Brian); along with many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Pattie was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Judith Bollinger, and her mother- and father-in-law, Bernie and Barb Britton.
Pattie leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, stories, and memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Above all, she will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother whose family was her greatest joy.
Her earthly journey is complete, but her love will remain with her family forever.
