Patricia Mary (Vogel) Williams

Williams (Vogel), Patricia Mary - age 77 of Swartz Creek, passed away on May 19, 2026. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 20, 2026 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church located at 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, Michigan 48473 with Fr. Louis Ekka officiating. There will be visitation at the Sharp Funeral Home (8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, 48473) from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, June 19, 2026 and from 10:00 AM Saturday until the time of service at the church, along with a Rosary at 9:30 AM. Scripture Service 6:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Swartz Creek. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Patricia to the North End Food Bank, Swartz Creek Food Pantry or the Humane Society of Genesee County.

Pat was born on August 21, 1948 in New York City to the late Paul Frederick and Mary Theresa (Falvey) Vogel. She was married for 25 years to the father of her children, Jeannette Williams Hawley and Erin Williams. She received her Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education from Towson University in Maryland in 1970. Pat achieved an additional 33 credits from Michigan State University and Central Michigan University via online courses. She taught Kindergarten for two years, Preschool for two years, First Grade for 24 years and served as a substitute teacher for one year in Swartz Creek.

She has been an active member of St. Robert Catholic Church in Flushing and St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church since 1972, where Pat took an active role in several capacities; parish councils, social justice commission, establishing a nursery school during Sunday masses at St. Mary's, taught CCD, sang in the Folk Mass Choir, served as president of CCW at St. Mary's, Eucharistic Minister & Lector at both parishes. Beyond her faith, Pat invested her time with being a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader, Secretary of the PTA & Vice President of the PTA at Swartz Creek Middle School, grant writer for St. Paul School, Friends of the Library & City of Swartz Creek. She held fundraisers for Habitat for Humanity in Owosso, volunteered at Heartbeat of Flint and was President of the Swartz Creek Friends of the Library.

Her children, grandchildren and students were the greatest joy of her life. Jeannette gave her Jakob, Joshua and Christina Cuda. Erin gave her Madeline and Evan LaVere. Her former students all had a piece of her heart.

Pat enjoyed walking, needlework, gardening, feeding & watching birds and feral critters, collecting shells & rocks and reading. She is at peace to be reunited with her pets; Tiger, Mel, Petey, Penney, Buddy, Sweetie and CoCo. She is happy to go home to her Lord and hopes to continue to serve him bringing his peace and love to others.

She will be missed by her loving daughters, Jeannette (Rocky) Hawley and Erin Williams. Precious grandchildren; Jakob, Joshua & Christina Cuda and Madeline and Evan LaVere. Beloved siblings; Paul (Sue) Vogel, John (Pam) Vogel and Norann (Doug) Redding. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, special neighbors and friends from St. Mary Queen of Angels CC and treasured colleagues. Pat will be welcomed into heaven by her parents, Paul & Mary Vogel. Grandparents, Nora Falvey & Adela Vogel and her brother, Robert Vogel.
