SMITH, Patricia Ann "Taffy" - age 74 of Flushing, passed away peacefully on September 18 , 2024. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, September 21, 2024, at St. Mary Magdalene Orthodox Church, 2439 S Long Lake Rd, Fenton, MI 48430 with Rev. Fr. Gabriel Blias officiating. Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-7 PM Friday, September 20, 2024, at the church where a Parastas Service will be held at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held from 9-10 AM Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Girls Scouts Heart of Michigan Campership Fund or St. Mary Magdalene Orthodox Church. Patricia was born on June 28, 1950, in Flint Michigan, the daughter of Falla and Florence (Lawson) Smith. She received a master's degree from Wayne State University as testament to her commitment to education and personal growth. She was a dedicated professional with Girl Scouts of America Fair Winds Council as the Volunteer Service Manager, Camp Director and Training Director which defined much of her life's work. She devoted her life to empowering young girls through volunteering, instilling in them the values of leadership, friendship, and service. Her efforts within the Girl Scouts left a lasting legacy in the lives of many who were fortunate to know her. Pat loved camping and helping others. She was also an active member of St. Mary Magdalene Orthodox Church, where she served on the church council for many years.
