Paul was born July 17, 1961, in Flint, the son of John Davis and Marilyn Joyce (Lambrix) Carroll. He married Joyce Sue Wendt on July 16, 1988. Paul retired last year from Ford Motor Company after 38 years of service. Paul was a selfless man who freely gave to others. He loved God, his family, his country, and was very boastful of his Marine son. He was a thoughtful, doting husband and a wonderful, giving father who was so proud of all his children, and a fun, playful grandpa. He loved his family dearly and loved being with his grand babies; he took joy in every minute he could spend with them. Paul loved his large group of friends and family and was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone at any time. Paul liked to joke and laugh and could be found pestering and poking his daughters who protested and pretended not to like it. He was sure to tell each of them that they were "his favorite." But there was only one favorite daughter-in-law. He loved golf and if he couldn't play, he watched it on TV, and he enjoyed watching NCIS, even if they were reruns of reruns. The family's favorite card game was sets and runs and was never played quietly. He loved sitting around a campfire with family and friends and even enjoyed a good fire by himself. He loved sitting on the pontoon in the middle of the lake on a warm summer day with either a fishing pole or a beer in his hand, or even better, both. He loved sitting with his friends and enjoying their company. He didn't necessarily love working on cars, but he was up for the challenge. He always tried to fix whatever he could himself with the help of his son. When summer hit, you would find him outdoors doing whatever needed to be done at his house and the homes of his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by so many; he will always be a wonderful Husband, Father, Papa, and Friend. Surviving are: wife, Joyce; four children, Michael (Brittany) Carroll, Chelsea (Lawrence) Burgess, Jacob and Ella Carroll; four grandchildren, Marilyn, Lincoln, Harleigh, and Hendrix; brother, John Carroll; two sisters, Karen (Frank) Lanczok and Beverly (Darrell) Kuch; aunt, Phyllis Bullock, close friend, Jim Spelman; and Joyce's large and loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marilyn Carroll. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
