Paul E. Wolford

Paul E. Wolford, of Linden, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Henry Ford-Genesys. He was 79 years old.

Born December 21, 1946, in Pinson Fork, KY, he was one of 12 children born to Hobart and Stella (Blackburn) Wolford. On August 3, 1968, he married Anita Varney and together they celebrated 58 years of marriage and raising a family. Paul was retired from General Motors Truck and Bus Division where he worked for 43 years. He enjoyed reading and was a Detroit Tigers fan, most of all he was an avid gardener, and he took great joy in working in his garden.

Paul is survived by his wife Anita Wolford of Linden, two sons, Paul Wolford Jr. and his wife Candy of Sonoia, GA and Donny Wolford and his wife Missy of Fenton; 4 grandchildren, Payton Jones and husband Tyler of Sonoia, GA, Jacob Wolford and his wife Christal of Sonoia, GA, and Lydia and Sam Wolford of Fenton; 3 great grandchildren Jessie, Emmett and Palmer Wolford all of Sonoia, GA, a special niece Charlotte as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 11 siblings and his beloved dog Rusti.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 2:00pm at Sharp Funeral Home, Linden Chapel with Pastor J.C. Hager officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until time of the service.
