Paula Kaye Ozanich, age 77, of Flint, Michigan, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and the very heart of her family. Paula’s kindness, strength, and unwavering love shaped the lives of everyone who was blessed to know her.
Paula was so much more than a mother, wife, or friend. She was a faithful disciple of Christ whose prayers covered her family daily. Her life was a living reflection of God’s grace-shown through compassion, humility, and quiet strength. The words of Proverbs 31:26 describe her perfectly: “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and her tongue is the law of kindness.” She was welcomed into Heaven, where she is now whole and at peace.
Paula was an amazing cook, even though she never followed a recipe. She laughed until she wheezed and smiled with her whole face. She was Christmas, making everything magical year after year. She loved her plain Lay’s potato chips and a Diet Pepsi. Coffee was her water. She moonlighted as the Easter Bunny, sang “Happy Birthday” at the top of her lungs, and took pictures of everything-while somehow hating having her own picture taken. She gave the very best hugs. Simply put, she was wonderful.
Paula is lovingly survived by her husband, Louis Grosse; her children, Bob (Jennifer) Stephenson, Scott Hyder, Candi Marshall, Dustin (Mindy) Irk, Jennifer (Gene) Scoby, Tara Ozanich, and Chad Ozanich. Nothing brought her greater joy than her grandchildren, Trevor, Kyle, Andrew, Dakota, Ryan, Alexis, Ava, Addison, and great-granddaughter, Sawyer - whom she loved fiercely and without limit.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Zarko; her mother, Pauline Holbeck; her brother, Norm Armstrong; and her sister, Judy McCool.
Paula’s gentle spirit, generous heart, and faithful love shaped who we are today. She loved deeply, gave endlessly of herself, and prayed over her family without ceasing. We miss her more than words can express, but we find comfort knowing her love lives on in us, in our faith, and in the countless lives she touched. She will always be part of us, carried in our hearts and we will love her forever.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes & Cremation Center at a later date. Please continue to keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate these difficult times.
