Pauline was born on November 18, 1939, to the late Clarence & Ruth Higgins in South Porcupine, Ontario, Canada. She moved to the United States as a young woman and attended Baker College. Pauline's passion in life were her prized bred Yorkshire Terriers. Pauline's scene in the realm of pure-bred Yorkies started with her entering dog shows of which she brought home many ribbons and always placed. She then bred her award-winning Yorkies and eventually started her own dog grooming business in the comfort of her own home.

Pauline was artistically gifted; her mind worked in a creative way in which she was able to make art from just about anything. Pauline oil painted on canvas but a majority of her pieces were painted on everyday items such as purses, wallets and rocks. These items were taken to craft shows and others would give them homes. She kept beautiful flower beds around her house with plenty of pots and hanging baskets with bright colors. In her earlier years, she hunted, and even white water rafted. Pauline hosted many Thanksgiving Holiday dinners and her best dish was green bean casserole. Her family always enjoyed feasting at her home as she was an excellent cook.

She married Windford "Win" Hutcheson on June 9, 2004. Together they enjoyed many years of traveling. These adventures took them to Ireland, England, France, Alaska, The Caribbean, Wales and many more places around the world. Her most favorite trip was also their honeymoon and wedding ceremony celebration in Scotland. Pauline and Windford were snowbirds, they spent the cold months in Ormond, Florida. There they made a whole second life for themselves with friends.

Pauline is survived by her son, Wade (Becky) Vanevery; stepson, Kenneth (Yvonne) Hutcheson; stepdaughter, Karen (Tom) McDaniel; sister, Carolyn Bradshaw; sister-in-law, Eva Lynne Mainer; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends too numerous to life but never forgotten.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Doug Fretz; the father of her son, Ken Vanevery; her son, Brent Vanevery and her brother, Gary Higgins
