Peggy Stoyak

STOYAK, Peggy Lou - of Linden, died March 16, 2018. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Sunday, 1-3 & 5-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Peggy was born May 8, 1932 in Three Way, TN, the daughter of Curtis and Orben Owens. She moved to Michigan in 1963 and married the love of her life, Joseph on November 9, 1968. She worked in a variety of jobs including working on her family farm, Peabody Hotel, Jacobsen's, The Vogue, Boutell's and was part business owner of The Oasis in Mt. Morris. Peggy and Joe traveled between Michigan, Florida and Tennessee. They retired to Michigan in 2011. Peggy enjoyed painting, golfing, bowling and her volunteer time at St. Andrews. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Peggy is survived by her husband, Joseph; children, Judy (Larry) Dodd, Jeffery (Carol) Blackwood, John Blackwood, Jennifer (Lew) Holloway, Kim (Alec) Austin and Matt Stoyak; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Polly Power and Helen Walker; sister-in-law, Kathleen Page; brother and sister-in-law, Jon and Toni Stoyak, as well as, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Orben Owens, Jr.; sons, Kenneth "Jerry" Kilpatrick and Stephen Blackwood. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
