Phyliss Katherine Lumley

LUMLEY, Phyllis Katherine  Age 80, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, June 9, 2003 at her residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday, June 12, 2003 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 3202 Forest Hill, Flint with Fr. Gary McInnis celebrant. Interment will be held at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A scripture service will be held 6 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, McLaren Hospice or St. Luke Catholic Church. Mrs. Lumley was born November 27, 1922 in Flint, the daughter of Richard and Anna (Applebee) Slocum. She married Jack McGunn and he preceded her in death in 1983. She then married Dennis Lumley on August 3, 1991 at St. Luke Catholic Church. Mrs. Lumley worked as a medical receptionist for Dr. Vakharia and several other doctors in the area. Mrs. Lumley was a former member of St. Michael Catholic Church and Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, St. Joseph Guild 55 and Over group. Mrs. Lumley was very active in the Daughters of Isabelle and was a member and former president of the St. Agnes Altar Society. She loved traveling and spending time with her family. Surviving are: husband, Dennis; five children, Linda (Jim) Helmka of Swartz Creek, Michael (Charlene) McGunn of Rochester Hills, Meribeth (Thomas) Kerns of Flushing, Dennis (Shelby) Lumley of Flint, Linda Lumley of Grand Blanc; 13 grandchildren, Jeff Kolanowski, Greg (Stephanie)Kolanowski, Amy Kolanowski, Mary Kate (Craig) Fitzpatrick, Nancy McGunn, Eric (Kim) Kerns, Tracy Kerns, Chris Thibo, Courtney Thibo, Hannah, McKenna, Isabella, Kaylen Lumley; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Mason, Allie Kolanowski; sister, Jean (Jerry) Loranger of Flushing; sister-in-law, Irene Maygar of Fenton; several nieces and nephews.
