Phyllis Cooley

COOLEY, Phyllis Christine (nee Curtis) - of Grand Blanc, died January 31, 2018, after 89 years in her earthly body. She made her transition back to Spirit at her residence surrounded by family. Per Phyllis' request, cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of her life held 11:00 am, Saturday, February 3 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church 9020 Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Following will be a reception/luncheon in the hall. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the St. Christopher Altar Guild. Phyllis was born January 3, 1929 in Flint where she resided her entire life. She married Robert David Cooley February 2, 1948 in Flint. They were married sixty years until his death in 2008. She retired from Sears after 22 years of service. Surviving are: 2 daughters, Karen and husband Rev. Michael L. Carr of Grand Blanc and Marcia and husband Kenneth Smith of Dallas, TX; 3 grandchildren, Thomas and wife Tammy Stadler of Flushing, Melissa Smith of Waterford, and Melanie and husband Daniel Bergman of Commerce Township; 5 great grandchildren, Kristi (Adam), Jack, Sam, Megan, and Zoe; sister, Barbara Glenn & daughter, Laura & family; Susan Themm of Clio; and "Special Club family". She was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert; 2 sons, Larry and Robert Cooley; 2 great grandchildren, Andrea and Thomas. It was with grateful hearts that we extend our thanks to all for prayers, friendship and support; especially to: Reverence Hospice Home Care (especially Pam, Michelle, Eileen, Elizabeth, Dr. Weiner and all who provided her care); and to The Rev.
