Phyllis Cumming

CUMMING, Phyllis Mary - Age 93, of Fenton, passed away June 10, 2023. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30PM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Paralyzed Veterans of America. Phyllis was born July 31, 1929 in Detroit, the daughter of John Joseph and Josephine Anne (Sokolowski) Tafelski and was a graduate of Fordson High School in Dearborn. She married Noel Newton Cumming on January 1, 1951; he preceded her in death on July 16, 2008. Phyllis had lived in Fenton since 1994 and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She enjoyed travel, many longtime friendships and above all her family was her greatest love. She is survived by her children, Alfred (Kristi) Cumming, Alice Cumming, Josephine Cumming, David (Lori) Cumming, Margaret (Kenneth Krasity) Cumming, John (Lisa) Cumming; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several beloved nieces and nephews.
