Rachel Bacik

Bacik, Rachel Naomi - Age 95, of Durand, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 509 Main St., Morrice. Msgr. George Michalek celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Gaines. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be held that evening at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, CA. Rachel was born September 3, 1923 in Deerfield Township, Michigan, the daughter of John Ellsworth and Grace (Brower) Sheffler. She married William Joseph Bacik, Sr. on July 16, 1942. She was a homemaker, operated a family owned Dry Goods Store in Milford and Gamble's Hardware in Otsego, MI. She is survived by her children, William J. (Marian) Bacik, Jr. of Durand; grandchildren, Christopher (Margo), Anne Marie, Rebecca (Michael), Mary (David), Stephanie (William Russell), Catherine, Andrew (Rose), James and Joseph; twelve great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; sister, Frances; brother, Fred; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, William Joseph Bacik, Sr.; grandson, Peter; sisters, Louisa, Ruth, Lou, Lavina and Ozella; and brother, Clifford.
