Ralph Douglas Boyd

Ralph Douglas “Doug” Boyd, age 76, of Linden, passed away on November 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with a brain tumor, surrounded by the love of his family. A celebration of his life will be held from 1–4 PM on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Spring Meadows Country Club, 1129 Ripley Rd., Linden. Doug was born on December 5, 1948, in Cardwell, Missouri, the son of the late Jimmie Donald and Mary Margarette (Simpkins) Boyd. He lived a life full of curiosity, adventure, and heart. He never missed a chance to be outdoors—whether he was hunting at sunrise, fishing on a quiet lake, or out on his bike enjoying the fresh air. He was a lifelong sports fan who cheered loudly, cooked with talent and pride, and loved a good laugh. Doug had a quick wit that helped him find humor in everyday life, and his ability to make others smile was one of his greatest gifts.

Doug’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bonnie Hagler-Boyd; his daughters Amanda (Gary) Boyd, Chelsea (Matt) Mills, Kacey Hagler (Amir), Alexandra Hagler, and Kimberly (Bryan) Salzano; and his adored grandchildren Ian and Addison Mills, Ava Boyd, and Juliette Salzano, who lit up his world. He is also survived by his sisters Nancy Wood and Jackie Shealy; his aunt Janet Boyd; sister-in-law Brenda Smeltzer; nieces Ida (Mitch) Shealy and Jennifer (Troy) Wright; nephew Jeff Wood; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and dear friends.

He is reunited in heaven with his parents, sister Kathy Boyd, and brothers-in-law Dave Wood, Roddy Shealy, and Thomas Smeltzer.

Doug lived a life full of simple joys, big laughs, and unforgettable stories. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the people who loved him and in the many memories he created along the way.
