Raylene L. Ball

Raylene L. Ball, age 80, of Durand, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 7, 2023. A Visitation will be held from 4PM - 7PM on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Home - Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. Visitation will resume the next day from 10AM  until the time of the Funeral Service at 12PM on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Home - Miller Road Chapel. Raylene will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Ronald, at Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Raylene's name to The American Cancer Society. Daughter of Raymond and Gladys Wortman. She was raised in Argentine and graduated from Gaines High School. She married Ronald "Ron" Ball of Durand, and and they celebrated 50 years of marriage before his death in 2013. They resided in Durand where they raised their 3 children. Raylene retired from General Motors after 30 year of employment in 1994. 

Raylene was a gentle, friendly soul who made friends wherever she went. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and friends, attending her grandchildren's school events, crocheting and trips to the casino. She was a loyal Detroit Tigers fan and attended several games including Spring Training games in Florida. 

She is survived by her sister, Bonnie Cooney; son Randall; daughter, Roxanne (Todd) Klenk; son, Russell (Jodi); 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald; brothers, David and Douglas Wortman and granddaughter, Rachelle. 

Raylene's family will miss her dearly.
