Rebecca (Becky) Sue Hood passed away peacefully on the evening of September 13, 2026. She was surrounded in warmth by the family who cherished and loved her deeply.
Born in Pontiac, Michigan on December 17, 1954, Becky grew up in the Clarkston area and spent much of her adult life in Northern Oakland County. She was a graduate of Clarkston High School and Oakland Community College and worked for years as a medical secretary and clinical transcriptionist.
During her 20s and 30s, Becky embraced motherhood. She loved being a mom to her three girls, bringing a sense of wonder into their lives and making everything feel magical.
For family and those who knew her, Becky’s unrestrained love for the Christmas season and all its rituals was legendary. The magical Christmas eves and mornings she carefully created for her family will forever be part of its collective memory.
Becky was a free-spirited, country girl at heart who felt a profound connection with nature and Native American culture.Above all, Becky loved her family. She was happiest when caring for and cherishing her children and grandchildren.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Norma and James Raymond, and brothers Daniel and Corey.
She is survived by her children Amy Hood, Bethany Hood and Heidi Hood; her grandchildren Nolan Porter, Mayah Hood, Morgan Porter, Avery Gasper, Levi Fisher, and Hudson Porter. In addition, she leaves behind siblings Kerry Raymond, Jimmy Raymond, Michael Raymond, and Julie Nardone. She is also survived by her former spouse, Eric Hood.
The family also acknowledges and extents their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Medilodge of Howell.
