Rella Wilkins

Wilkins, Rella Mae -- Age 71, of Flint, died November 7, 2017. According to her wishes no public services will be held. Rella was born November 9, 1945 in Colfax, Louisiana the daughter of Joseph Wilkins and Mary (Jefferson) Wilkins. She grew up in the St. John area. Rella was a graduate of Flint Central High School class of 1963 and the University of Michigan. She was a teacher at Martin and Eisenhower Elementary Schools. She also worked for Flint Parks and Recreation and at the election polls. She enjoyed basketball, volleyball, bowling, Bingo, fishing and traveling with her niece and nephew. She was a Canusa games participant. Surviving are: sister Barbara Wilkins of Flint; brother, Felix Wilkins; devoted niece Melissa Wilkins of Maple Heights, Ohio; devoted nephew, Sean (Dorninda "DJ") Wilkins of Saginaw; cousin Maxine Clemons and many other cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and uncles, Fillmore Jefferson and Thomas Jefferson. The family extends a special thank you to Rella's home health aides, neighbors, and nurse Belinda.
