Rick, as he was more commonly known, was born April 2nd, 1966, to Kenneth and Jeanne (Schwartz) Burgess in Flint, MI. He graduated from Flint Southwestern in 1984. Rick was a man who loved motorcycles, classic cars, and classic rock. He loved dogs and always had one or two in his home. Growing up, Rick was a daredevil who loved visiting the family cabin up in Lewiston. His summers were spent riding quads, dirt bikes, causing mischief with his cousins, and being out on the lake. He loved to build ramps for his bike-his favorite bike being his Big Wheel. His other favorite pastime was picking on his little brother, Timothy.
In his adult life, Rick worked as a mechanic, doing what he loved most—working on and fixing cars. He had a knack for understanding how things worked, often able to diagnose a problem just by listening to an engine. Whether it was a simple fix or a full rebuild, Rick approached every job with patience, skill, and pride. There was nothing he enjoyed more than bringing a car back to life.
Rick is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Burgess and grandparents.
He is survived by his mother, Jeanne Burgess, younger brother, Timothy Burgess (Toni), nieces, Rachel and Emma Burgess, nephew, Adam Burgess, and great niece, Vanessa Burgess. He was loved deeply by all and will be greatly missed.
