AOWN, Richard David - age 71, of Hartland, passed away, Wednesday, December 18, 2012 at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, Commerce. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 28, 2012 at Cornerstone Church, 4995 N. Hickory Ridge Road, Highland, . Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Thursday from 2-9 PM and at church Friday from 10 AM until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Cornerstone Church. Richard was born July 8, 1941 in Jerusalem, the son of David B. and Emma H. (Thabit) Aown. He was a graduate of Pershing High School in Detroit and received an Associate's Degree from Wayne State University. He married Connie Sue Mason August 16, 1984 in Cheboygan. Richard retired from Thyssen Krupp Budd in West Bloomfield. He loved to fly and owned his own plane. He was a member of BAA (Brighton Airplane Association). Surviving are: his wife, Connie; 6 children, Bryan (Shari) Aown of South Bend, IN, Mark (Stacie) Aown of Fircrest, WA, Christie (Jonathan) Swift of Tyre, Lebanon, Nathan (Kelly) Mason of Linden, Christian Aown of Hartland, and David Aown of Hartland; 13 grandchildren, Sarah, Tyler, Isaac, Tamala, Samuel, Mariela, Joshua, Jacob, Jemmilie, Judson, J. Christopher, Judah, and Asher. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Malene Rock-Ertl. Friends may share an online tribute on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
