Taylor, Richard Carl - Age 81, of Lennon, formerly of Swartz Creek, passed away June 22, 2026. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, June 29, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Home Miller Rd. Chapel 8138 Miller Rd. Swartz Creek. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2 PM - 5 PM Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the funeral home and 10 AM Monday until the time of the service (11 AM). Those desiring may make contributions to the animal rescue charity of their choice. Richard was born December 17, 1944, in Pontiac, the son of Lawrence R. and J. Kathleen (Ruttan) Taylor. He was a 1962 graduate of Pontiac Central High School. He managed Jursik Truck Equipment in Highland Park and Flint, was employed as a truck driver and a heavy equipment operator, and later founded his own company, Taylor Trenching, in Swartz Creek. Richard was an avid reader; he loved historical fiction and adventure stories. He is survived by his children, Richard "Rick" Taylor, Michael "Mike" Taylor, Stacey Taylor, Emily Taylor (Shawn Turner), Carl (Emy) Taylor, Roy "Scott" (Tara) Taylor; 5 grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Bella.
