Richard Dean “Dick” Wagner, age 90, of Fenton, passed away September 30, 2026.
A memorial service will be held 1PM Wednesday, November 11, 2026 at Linden Presbyterian Church, 119 W. Broad St., Linden. Pastor Dawn Russell will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Adopt-A-Pet in Fenton.
Richard was born August 16, 1936, in Linden, the son of Carl and Florence (Parker) Wagner. He was a 1954 graduate of Fenton High School and served in the Army Reserves.
Dick was employed by VG’s Grocery for 28 years before going on to own and operate the 7-Eleven in Swartz Creek for 28 years. He was a member of the Fenton Chamber of Commerce and the 7-Eleven Franchise Owners Association.
Dick loved spending time at Cedar Shores in Harrison, where he also served as president of the Cedar Shores Owners Association for eight years.
Dick was known for his kindness and willingness to help others. He was always ready to lend a hand and was someone his family and friends could count on.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda; children, Mark (Patricia) Wagner, Michael Wagner, Michelle Johnson, Kimberley Scammell, and Frederick (Heidi) DeGroot; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Wagner, and his brother, Ronald Wagner.
