Richard "Dick" was born April 26, 1930 in Madison, WI, the son of Frank O. and A. Merle (Trine) Johnson. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy, during which he flew nightly reconnaissance missions. He married Maxine Helen Fisher September 8, 1956 in Beloit, WI and she preceded him in death July 14, 2018. Dick resided in Fenton since 1988 coming from Rochester Hills, and Oak Creek, Wisconsin prior to that. He retired in 1987 from GM Research Labs in Warren after 31 years of service. Dick was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fenton V.F.W. Post #3243, Open Gate Garden Club, a Lifetime member of the NRA, & A.A.R.P. He also was a member of Lutheran Layman's League, and Laborers for Christ, where he helped to build many new churches, & church additions for the Lutheran Church for 13 years. Throughout his life he enjoyed gardening, shooting guns (where he won multiple awards at the Daniel Boone Sportsman's Club in Wisconsin, for his sharpshooting skills), home and car repairs, and woodworking. But above all else Dick loved God, his family and friends. He learned as a young child that the more you give, the richer you become, and with his servant's heart he helped so many through the years with his volunteerism and philanthropy.
