Richard George Lynch, 83, of Clio, passed away on December 5, 2025 at his home.
He was born on April 14,1942 to Richard and Genevieve (Prime) Lynch in Flint, MI. Richard was a graduate of the class of 1960 from Mt. Morris High School and a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He began working for General Motors in 1964, working in Operations Support until his retirement in 2004 after 40 years of service. He married Myra Leota Mince in Flint, in October of 1965. He was one of the first original members of the Fenton Moose Lodge and was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Clio. Through his life, he raced boats and was a pit crew member for his dear friend Ron Shamel. He also enjoyed the friendships he made during his years of bowling at Fenton Lanes. He cherished seeing his boys compete in sports including watching his son John race. Case’s Island on Lake Fenton was his happy place. He was a third generation islander and enjoyed all the time he spent there. He cherished the beauty, history, activities and friends he had on the island. In the fall and spring seasons he dedicated his time as “The Leaf Doctor,” keeping the park cleared for everyone to enjoy.
Richard is survived by his loving spouse of 60 years Myra, two sons: John Lynch, along with his wife Lisa and Tim Lynch, along with his wife Mikelle; five grandchildren: Baine, Sydney, Aubrie, Ashlyn, Garner and Obi dog; two great grandchildren: Adalyn and Connor; one sister Carole Pennington along with nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Lynch and mother, Genevieve Lynch. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 3:00 pm at the Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, Fenton, MI, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, MI 48430, with Benjamen Evers, officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
