JONES, Richard "Norm" -- Age 87, of Gaines, died September 4, 2014. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, September 8 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment at Fairview Cemetery Linden. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Sunday. Norm was born November 9, 1926 in LaPorte, IN, the son of Cyril Max and Gertrude (Sadler) Jones. He married Dorothy (Sharp) Tibbits on February 8, 1980 in Swartz Creek. Norm graduated from Central High School in 1945. He was a veteran in the U S Army serving in WWII. Norm worked for Wonder Bread and then Oven Fresh Bakery retiring in 1984. Surviving are: wife, Dorothy of Gaines; children, Stephen (Sandra) Jones of Oscoda, David (Shirley) Jones of Goodrich, Alice Amy of Casper WY, Sally Jones of Flint; step-daughters, Susan (Steven)Seidenstucker of Hanover, Karen (Robert) Kintgen of Gaines; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Donald, Ivan and Elton Jones; former wife and mother of his children, Betty Jones; great granddaughter, Desiree Jewell: step son, David Tibbits.
