Richard Allan Stork, 82, of Byron, passed away on June 10, 2026.

Richard was born June 4, 1944 in Flint, Michigan to Elvin John and Vivian Louise (Howland) Stork. He was the fifth of seven children and grew up on the family farm in Byron. He graduated from Byron High School in 1962, and married his high school sweetheart, Judith Ann Boyd, on December 5, 1964. They had five children together.

Richard worked for GM’s Buick Motor Division for 35 years retiring as a supervisor in 1999. He was part of the team that worked on the last car to roll out of Buick City. After retirement, he married Vivian Carol (Woodall) Nestor on October 7, 2000.

Richard loved music and singing, enjoyed visiting with family and friends, and treasured living on the family farm. He was very skilled at auto mechanics, body work, and painting. He enjoyed working on classic vehicles and bringing old items back to life. Richard also liked collecting and restoring antique tractors. He was an active member of the County Line Tractor Club and Gaines United Methodist Church.

Richard is survived by his children, Christine (Mike) Tobias, Richard (Ruby) Stork, Robert (Kelly) Stork, Stephen Stork, and Caroline Stork; five grandchildren, Kyle Nagy, Emily (Nagy) Bates, Ethan Nagy, Audrey Stork, and Amelia Stork, three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Kholsen, and Kyler; and five siblings, Barbara Gifford, Robert Stork, Vivian Gunsell, David Stork, and Diana Seaman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Vivian Stork; his twin sister, Rosemary Smiley; and his wives Judy Davis and Vivian Stork.

A funeral service for Richard will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—Flint Chapel, 1225 Robert T. Longway Boulevard, Flint. Interment will follow at Byron Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes – Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, and again at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association- Greater Michigan Chapter, in memory of Richard.
