Risa Jones

Risa Mabelle Jones - Age 78 peacefully passed away on April 12, 2023 in Athens, Alabama.  Risa was a graduate of Flint Southwestern High School and Eastern Michigan University.  She was an elementary school teacher in Flint, MI for thirty years.  Risa was a lifetime member of Salem Lutheran Church in Flint, MI.  When she retired, she and her husband Casey loved traveling in their RV with whatever elderly beagle-dogs they adopted along the way. She was an avid reader, played the piano, and enjoyed times with friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at Salem Lutheran Church, Flint, MI at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.   She is survived by husband, Casey Jones; daughter, Becki Ross and son, Scott Stebbins; grandchildren: Jennifer Peterson, Justin Stebbins, Cody Dawson, Kaylah Dawson, McKenna Ross, Riley Ross, Amber Stebbins (Jon Fletcher), Jared Stebbins, Matthew Stebbins; great-grandson Alyric Fletcher, and sister Rosie (Ivan) Quinn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar & Dorothy Hackett, step-daughter Lesa Stebbins (Doroschenko), great-grandson Zayn Fletcher. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Salem Lutheran Church, 2610 Martin Luther King Ave., Flint, MI 48505.
