GIFFORD, Rita F. (McNamee) - Age 73, of Fenton, died April 21, 2014. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, April 24, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Wednesday, with a Rosary at 8 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton and from 10 AM until the time of Mass Thursday at church. Rita was born February 16, 1941 in Flint, the daughter of Francis and Loraine (Carrigan) McNamee. She was married to Kenneth Gerald Gifford on January 9, 1965 in Flint. Mrs. Gifford had been a resident of Fenton since 1968, coming from Flint. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, was a Master Gardener; enjoyed traveling and gardening. Surviving are: husband, Kenneth; son, Steven and wife Lisa Gifford; grandsons, Ian, Alec and Hunter; sisters, Alice Courney, Anne and husband Jim Allen; several nieces and nephews.
