Rob Dowler

Robert Michael Dowler- Age 38, of Swartz Creek, passed away September 4, 2026, after a courageous 1-year battle with cancer. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel- 8138 Miller Rd, Swartz Creek. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery (Whigville). Visitation will take place from 4PM - 8PM on Wednesday, September 9 and from 10 AM until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Rob was born on September 7, 1987, in Flint, Michigan to Michael and Diane (O’Brien) Dowler. Rob enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found gardening, fishing, cutting and splitting wood or caring for his horse. He was a 2006 graduate of Durand High School. He was employed at Hall’s Greenhouse where he was affectionally known as RobCat. He was a lover of country music, and every Sunday night at 7PM would tune into Dan Richards on 103.9 the Fox to hear the classic country songs.

Rob is survived by his parents; Grandmother Joan Dowler; aunts and uncles Terry O’Brien, Bob O’Brien and Marcia (Chris) Hampton; great-aunt Jean Devenport; cousins Patrick (Demetrike) Wells-O’Brien, Elizabeth “Libby” (Jamie) MacDonald and Charles (Kathleen) Spencer; and other extended family, cousins, and friends as well as his faithful dog Pebbles.

He is preceded in death by grandparents Charles and Evelene O’Brien; and aunts Colleen Spencer and Teresa O’Brien.

His corneas were donated through Gift of Life.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to American Cancer Society, Gift of Life Michigan, or Humane Society in memory of Rob.
