Robert Francis ALEXANDER

ALEXANDER, Robert Francis - age 74, of Gaines, died Monday, February 18, 2013 at Avalon Hospice. Private services will be held. Robert was born March 25, 1938 in Flint, the son of Robert Francis and Laura Beth (Nobles) Alexander. He graduated from Kearsley High School in 1956 and was a star athlete in football, basketball, baseball and track and field. Robert graduated from Mott Community College in 1959 and began working at GM Chevrolet Manufacturing that same year. He then graduated the apprentice program as a journeyman electrician and later worked at the Chevrolet V-8 Engine Plant as a general supervisor in maintenance retiring in 1992. He was an avid sportsman and woodworker. He enjoyed golfing and remodeling projects. Robert married Jennifer Lynn Culver Farnsworth in June of 1986. He is survived by: his, wife; two daughters, Shelley R. (Terry) Stephen of Farmington Hills, MI and Alise A. (Alan) McCain of Jamestown, OH; step-sons, Christian D. (Angela) Farnsworth of Casper, WY, Jonathan E. (Ann) Farnsworth of Dexter, MI; grandchildren, Paul, Angela, and Michael McCain, Christian II and Elizabeth Farnsworth, Jonathan II, Charles and Madelyn Farnsworth and Kathryn Turner; sister, Barbara (Dale) Norris, mother-in-law, Janet Culver; brother-in-law, Geoffery (Wendie) Culver; and many nieces and nephews.
