ANTHONY, Robert Herbert "Bob" - Age 95, of Lennon, went to the Lord November 30, 2013. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Tuesday, December 3 at Sharp Funeral Homes, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Interment in Bendle Cemetery, Clayton Township. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Monday, 10 AM - 12 Noon Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to Calvary Christian Church or Disabled American Veterans. Robert was born October 26, 1918 in Flint the son of Ray N. and Evah (Harding) Anthony. He had resided on the same farm for 95 years. He was a graduate of Flint Central High School and GMI. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He married Marjorie Olive Dowland in 1946; she preceded him in death in 1995. He was a member of Calvary Christian Church in Swartz Creek. He was a life member of the D.A.V. in Flint. Bob served 15 years on the Swartz Creek School Board, 4 years on the Clayton Township Board, and 4 years on the Clayton Township Zoning Board. He was member of the Swartz Creek Rotary. Bob was the former sexton of Bendle Cemetery in Clayton Township. Surviving are: two sons, David ( Sandra) Anthony of Swartz Creek, Bradley (Julie) Anthony of Lennon; four grandchildren, Dave Anthony of Swartz Creek, Kimberly (Nathan) Kanous of Parker, CO, Stephen Anthony of Lennon, Jonathan Anthony of Lennon; four great-grandchildren, Lydia Kanous, Connor Kanous, Aleigha Anthony, Chandler Anthony; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Earlene; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife; brother, Lloyd; and sister Ilene Fonger. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
