Robert E. Beck, lifelong resident of the Fenton area passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at home with his family at his side. He was 90 years old.
Born July 8, 1935, in Flint, he was the son of Carl J. and Grace L. (Lockhart) Beck. Robert graduated from Linden High School, class of ’53. On January 22, 1955, he married Lynne E. House in Linden, and together they celebrated this past January, 70 wonderful years of marriage. Robert was Owner of Beck Custom Builders for 50 years until his retirement, building a multitude of homes in the Fenton, Linden, Holly and surrounding areas. He was a man of many hobbies and joys which included; gardening with his wife, hunting & fishing, woodworking, sawmilling, jewelry making, ocean cruises, traveling the USA with his 5th wheel camper, motorcycling, golfing, foraging for berries/mushrooms/agates/copper, lapidary work, horseshoes, photography, wine making, Ham radio (EXPERT callsign NK8V) and especially snowmobiling. Most of all he was a family man, and nothing was better than time spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially time spent with them at one of the two cabins he built, one on each end of the Upper Peninsula.
Robert is survived by his wife, Lynne Beck of Fenton; one daughter Kristy Beck-Bair (Timothy) of Dimondale, MI; a son Scott Beck (Tammy) of Fenton; four grandchildren, Melissa Beck-Brand (Josh), Holly Brehm (Josh), Daniel Bair and Michael Bair (Megan) and seven great-grandchildren, Amelia, Vivian, Blakely, Beckett, Logan, Leo and Mia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter and son-in-law Bambi L. and Hugh Rose; and a brother Duane Beck.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 6:00pm at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, MI 48430, with Pastor William C. Stover officiating. There will be visitation from 4:00pm until time of the service.
