Robert John Beers "Bob"

Beers, Robert John "Bob" - Age 87, of Fenton, died February 19, 2024. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 23 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide Street, Fenton. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 22 at 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a Rosary service at 6:00PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Burial will follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Robert “Bob” Beers was born August 2, 1936, in Flint, the son of Gerald D. and Helen (Gugala) Beers. Bobby was a lifelong resident of the Flint and Fenton area. He was a 1955 graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic School. Bobby retired from St. Joseph Hospital, in Flint after many years of service.  

Surviving are: Special niece Tammy Craton (Bob Bryan), niece Kelly Pearce (Susan Schrader), Brother-in-law Joeseph Telesz of Fenton, sister-in-law Barbara Coon, his special neighbor Matt, and his beloved cat Tiger.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gerald Beers, sister Nancy Telesz, and his good friend Ed.   

Bobby loved his church and his church family.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and loved helping others.  Bobby worked in the soup kitchen every Thanksgiving and participated in the many charities of the Knights of Columbus.    He loved baking apple pies for the Applefest, making polish food, dinner dates with Joe, and swapping meals with his good friend and neighbor Matt.   All year he’d talk about joining all his friends in the Annual August Birthday celebration.  Bobby loved classic cars and could tell you all about the “best cars with the best engines”.   He loved Michigan sports, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, Michigan Spartans and of course the University of Michigan Wolverines.  He will be sadly missed by all those that knew him.
