Robert was born August 24, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from St. Alphonsus High School in Dearborn, class of 1959. Robert was very active with the military, proudly serving in the United States Navy and United States National Guard. During his service with the National Guard he was deployed to serve with the United States Army serving during Operation Desert Storm. Robert was honorably discharged in 1992. He served as former post commander for VFW Post in Byron. Robert worked for 29 years as an electrical engineer until his retirement in 2002. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and camping.
He is survived by his; daughter, Kristina (Michael) Stevenson; son, Brian (Teresa) Burlew; granddaughters, Mariah Stevenson, Celeste Stevenson, Denver Collett; great-grandchildren, Tyler (Courtney) Collett and Rylie Collett (Daniel); great-great grandchildren, Porter Collett, Violet Collett and Kolsen Lovejoy. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Burlew and mother, Rosemary Burlew. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
