Bobby Cawson

Robert “Bobby” Cawson, 37, of Flint, MI, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2026. Bobby was born December 7, 1988 in Royal Oak, Michigan, the son of Robert Cawson and Christine D. Cawson. Robert graduated from Fenton High School in 2007, then went on to University of Michigan-Flint, earning a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. Bobby taught several years before becoming Principal at Bertha Neal Elementary School in Durand, Michigan. His years in education were marked by compassion, leadership, and dedication, leaving a lasting impact on the students and colleagues whose lives he touched. Bobby, an avid Detroit Lions fan, especially loved golf, basketball, the MSU Spartans, watching sports, traveling, and boating with his family and friends. Bobby lived happily with his “other half” and soulmate, Barbie Wykes, as well as her children Erica (Adam) Wilsdon, Logan Wykes, Emma Wykes and grandchildren Jaxon and Blair Wilsdon. Also remaining to cherish Bobby’s name are both of his parents, his sisters, Katherine (Dennis) Murphy and Kimberly (Christopher) Ross, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and lifelong friends. Preceding Bobby in death are his grandparents, and “father-in-law”, Robert Kegg Jr.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the Sharp Funeral Home - Miller Road Chapel located at 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Michigan 48473.
