Robert George CHAPMAN

CHAPMAN, Robert George - Age 81, of Flint, died Friday, February 14, 2014 peacefully at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held 2PM Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint, MI. Visitation will be held from 12 to 8 PM Tuesday, and from 11 until the time of service on Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to American Cancer Society. Robert was born April 26, 1932 in Flint, the son of Raymond and Evelyn Chapman. He married Cindy Jenca on June 13, 1969. Mr. Chapman was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, worked for the Canadian National Rail Road and was also very active in the Flint River Valley Steelheaders. Robert is survived by his wife, Cindy; sons, Bob (Maria) Chapman, Dan Chapman; grandchildren, Lexi Chapman, Isaac Chapman, Eli Chapman as well as Austin Christian and Kerrina, whom he was a grandfather figure to; sisters, June Lewis, Millie (Arthur) Lewis, Evelyn (Jerry) Brown; extended family, Larry and Marie Elliott and family, Dennis and Frieda Stong and family, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Brent Chapman; his parents; and brothers, Raymond, Ed and Stan.
