Robert Joseph Brown

BROWN, Robert Joseph - Age 87, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 18, 2024 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek with Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Private entombment will take place in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will take place from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, March 17 with praying of the rosary at 6:00 PM. On Monday morning Bob will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. 

Bob was born on July 1, 1936 in Flint, the son of the late Raymond and Edith (Smith) Brown. He graduated from St. Matthews Catholic High School, class of 1954. Bob would continue his education at Eastern Michigan University, earning his bachelor's degree in business administration. He served in the United States Army Reserves for 6 years. Bob and Juliene Schnelker were united in marriage on July 29, 1961 in Flint. Bob worked for GM as an accountant general supervisor for 32 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church and former member of the Knights of Columbus. In his free time, Bob enjoyed golfing and bowling. He made it into the 700 club and always enjoyed spending time with his graduating class and friends of 1954. 

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 64 years, Juliene Brown; son, Peter (Lisa) Brown and their children and grandchildren; son, Gregory (Deanna) Brown and their children; daughter, Suzy Brown-Koepplinger; grandchildren, Joshua Koepplinger and Kyle Brown; sister, Joanne Manko; and nieces and nephews.
