Robert Joe McElwain

McElwain, Robert Joe - Age 66 , of Grand Blanc, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013. Funeral services will be held 4:00PM, Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Pastor Jim Reid officiating. Visitation will be held 1:00PM until time of service at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association or to the family. Robert was born November 6, 1947 in Akron Ohio, the son of the late Thomas C. and Bessie J. (Miller) McElwain. Mr. McElwain enjoyed playing and watching sports, cooking, and photography. Robert earned his Bachelors Degree from Northern Iowa University where he also played college baseball. He also earned his Masters Degree at Central Michigan University. Mr. McElwain retired from Mike Kapture Insurance Agency in 2010. Surviving are: son, Rick (Deanna) McElwain of Grand Blanc; daughters, Amy Christine (Jenny) McElwain of NC, Lisa Kathleen McElwain of Lansing; grandchildren, Riley, Logan, Travis, Tyler; brothers, Norman E. (Carolyn) McElwain of Iowa, John (Mary Ellen) McElwain of FL; nieces Laura McElwain of Iowa, Maureen (Scott) Wetnight of Fenton; great nieces, Amelia and Delaney.
