ZEFFERO, Robert Joseph - Age 83, of Suttons Bay, formerly of Fenton, died Thursday, December 12, 2013. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Monday and Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, with a Rosary at 7 PM Tuesday; and at church Wednesday from 10 AM until time of the Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to St. John G.I.F.T. Campaign. Robert was born April 15, 1930 in Flint, the son of Joseph and Mollie (Fehrenbach) Zeffero. He was a graduate of Traverse City High School; received his Bachelor degree from Ferris State College; and his Master's degree from Eastern Michigan University. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force. Robert married Jeanine Malo September 7, 1953 and she preceded him in death September 26, 2013. He retired in 1978 as a teacher and coach from Fenton High School and was the inventor of the plastic pick-up truck bedliner. Robert was a beautiful man who gave so much to so many. He was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, son, and brother. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him. Surviving are: children, Paula Crelley, Leeanne Zeffero, Corine Zeffero, Robert (Theresa) Zeffero, Amy (Rick) Corcoran, Gregory (Amanda) Zeffero; 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Mackey; cousin, Bill Casier.
