Roger Alvin Eastman

Roger Alvin Eastman, of Gaines, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025 at his home. He was 82 years old.

Born December 27, 1942 in Durand he was one of 3 sons born to Fred and Dorothy (Green) Eastman. Roger was known as a hard worker, working in the construction field his entire life and was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Union Local #324. He attended Gaines United Methodist Church with his wife Mary, where their lives were joined in marriage over 62 years ago on June 1, 1963. Roger enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing, going to the racetrack and was always on the go, working around the house, working in his yard, tinkering on things like mowers and other projects.

Roger is survived by his loving spouse Mary, their two children; Melissa and John; four grandchildren, Johnny, Austin, Krystal and Ashley as well as eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Rex and Roxy "Rocky" and two half brothers Junior and Ross.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 1:30 pm at the Gaines United Methodist Church, 117 Clinton St, Gaines, MI 48436. There will be visitation from 12:30pm until time of the service.
