Ronald Bruce Fitchett

Ronald Bruce Fitchett, age 82, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at McLaren Flint. A funeral service will take place 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with burial following at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 10, 2024. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Wounded Warriors Project. 

Ron was born on August 6, 1942 in Flint the son of the late Gerald and Leona (Loosemore) Fitchett. He graduated from Flint Northern High School, class of 1961. Ron served in the United States Army Reserves and National Guard from 1964 until 1970. He worked in the family business at Arrow Automotive Supply for over 25 years as the paint specialist. Ron and Linda McDaniel were united in marriage on December 7, 1968 in Mt. Morris. He loved his family and most importantly spending time with his only granddaughter, Abby. Ron was artistic and very patriotic. Every fourth of July his pyrotechnic skills would put on a great show for his surrounding neighbors. Ron enjoyed numbers, studying the lottery and his chances at winning. In his free time, he liked to hunt, watch football and the Detroit Red Wings. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda; daughters, Kimberly Fitchett and Kerry (Matthew) Ludwig; granddaughter, Abigail Irving; and brother, Gerald Fitchett. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
