GELLNER, Ronald Charles - Age 76, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at home peacefully surrounded by his family. A memorial service will take place at 12:00 PM, Monday, March 4, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Chaplin Cory Hamilton will officiate. Visitation will take place prior to the memorial from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM. Graveside service and Military Honors will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Autism Support of Michigan.

Ronald was born on April 5, 1947 in Flint the son of late Thomas and Dorothy (Peterson) Gellner. He graduated from Durand High School, class of 1964. Following his education, Ronald enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1966, proudly serving during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1970. Just after he enlisted into the Military, Ronald and Georgia Rose were united in marriage on May 5, 1966 in Durand. He worked for GM for 34 years in skilled trades until his retirement in 1999. Ronald was a devoted Catholic and former member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He served as a Eucharistic Minister with the church and regularly served as extraordinary minister of Holy Communion to Willowbrook Manor in Flint. Ronald volunteered a lot of his time to the Habitat for Humanity. In his free time, Ronald enjoyed deer hunting and fishing on his property and he loved his 1967 Classic Camaro. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Georgia Gellner; daughter, Meredith and husband, Michael Mihailoff; grandchildren, Ethan Mihailoff, Kevin Mihailoff and Stacey Mihailoff; great-grandchildren, Samantha Maxon, Addyson Maxon and Christopher Maxon; great-great grandson, Gavin Glowner; in-law's, Rhonda Hart, Paula Kortz and Tim Rose; and several nieces and nephews.
