LaFerney, Ronald "Ron L" - age 74 of Holly, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, Michigan 48430, with Deacon Ron Kenney officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 2, 2026 and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ronald to the American Cancer Society.
Ronald was born on March 18, 1952 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Gerald Donald and LaDonna Sue (Moore) LaFerney. He graduated from Holly High School and on October 3, 1970, he married Glenda Lynn Dobbs of Fenton, Michigan. Ronald worked his entire career in the Tool & Die Industry and was affectionately known to many as "Ron L" and "Mad Dog". He enjoyed playing the lotto, spending time with Glenda at the Fenton FOE, golfing and hunting in Iron Mountain.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 55 years, Glenda. Children, Rhonda (Tommy) LaFerney of Fenton; Gerald "Jerry" LaFerney of Holly; Leta (Michael) Sugg of Naples, FL. Grandchildren, Brandon Nixon; Tyler Bissionette; Rachelle LaFerney; Austin LaFerney; Kyle (Brionna) Sugg; Kayla Sugg; Veronica (Derrick) Julite; Katie (Vinnie) Jackson; Allyson (Tom) Benner; Andrew (Torri) Jackson; Jace, Gavin, Hayden, Landon and Katie Jelinek. Great-Grandchildren, Ryaura; Carter; Ava; Kennedy; Theo; Maeve; Rowan; Eddie; Alaina; Brenden; Sebastian; Ellie. Siblings, Sue (Harry) Dobbs; Steve LaFerney; Raymond (Rita) Berndt; Dana (Greg) Pietka. Many nieces & nephews also survive.
Ronald will be welcomed into heaven by his parents; daughter, Carey Jackson; son-in-law; Larry Jackson; sister-in-law, Cora LaFerney.
