McDONALD, Ronald Lee - age 69, of Swartz Creek, formerly of Ft. Wayne, IN died Monday, November 4, 2013 at St. Joseph Providence Hospital in Detroit. A memorial service will be held 2 PM Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Mr. McDonald was born March 8, 1944 in Hartford City, IN, the son of Ethrum Jay and Dorothy (Knight) McDonald. He married Gail Vincent on December 24, 1991. Mr. McDonald was worked at GTE for 25 years and had worked construction. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army for serving active duty for 4 years and was U.S. Army Reserve for 32 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and old cars. Surviving are: wife, Gail of Swartz Creek; three children, Janet Lynn (Troy) Smith of Ft. Wayne, IN, Debbie Ann McDonald of Huntington, IN, Ronald Lee McDonald II of Burton, MI; seven grandchildren, Zachary Lee McDonald Boggs, David Albert Kimmel, Jr., Maxwell Lee Kimmel, Mariah LeeAnn Burnworth, Makayla Lynnette Burnwoth, DJ Hindline, Jermaine Eathrum McDonald; two brothers, Joe McDonald of Ft. Wayne, IN and Jerry (Eileen) McDonald of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tom McDonald.
