WAGNER, Ronald Ralph "Ron" - age 81 of Linden, died Saturday, September 12, 2015 in his home after a short battle with cancer with his loving family at his bedside. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Rev. Don Neuville will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Ron was born September 4, 1934 in Jackson, the son of Ann and Ralph West. He married Geraldine Ann "Gerry" Ling March 31, 1956. Ron worked for Consumers Power for 40 years in the gas department. He was a steward for Local 119 in Fenton and Howell 38 years. Financial Secretary of Local 119 for 10 years and Trustee for Michigan State Utility Workers Council for 6 years. After retiring in March 1993, he volunteered at Hospice for Communities for several years. Ron was one of a group of community leaders in forming the Loose Senior Citizens Center and the last of the original Board Members. Ron loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His hobbies included fishing, wood carving and many hours serving the Loose Center. Ron will be missed by his three children Steve Wagner, Karen (Jeff) Thomas and James (Gayle) Wagner all of Linden; three grandchildren Eric Shook, Alex Wagner, Nathan Wagner; and two great-grandchildren Layne Shook and Wyatt Shook; brother Dick (Linda) Wagner, sister-in-law Beatrice Tyree; and loving friend Elaine Addis. Ron was preceded in death by wife Gerry in 2012.
