COX, Roscoe DeVon - Age 83, of Durand, died March 31, 2020 at his home. Private service and burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. A memorial service for friends and family will be planned at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Michigan Plant a Tree Foundation. DeVon was born July 8,1936 in Eminence, KY, the son of Roscoe and Mary Ellen (Payton) Cox. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Chevrolet Flint Manufacturing in 1998. Mr. Cox was a gifted pianist and classically trained at the age of 10. He served as the pianist at Lennon United Methodist Church and studied at the Flint Bible Institute and also Southeastern University (Florida). He was a regular for many years at Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) where he made many friends. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Connie; children, Jonathan D. (Rachel) Cox, Amy K. (Rob) Nichols, LaNeda D. (Terry) Elrod; grandchildren, Samuel, Ella, Owen, Samantha, Catrina, Jessica, Haley and Ashley; sister, Sharon A. (Bruce) Allen; He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Barry Wayne Cox; sister, Loretta Birchler. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
