Russell PINTACURA Sr.

PINTACURA, Russell - age 90, of Burton, died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Briarwood-Heartland Hospice Center. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, August 26, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 25, 2013, 5-9 PM at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the VFW Chevrolet-Flint Post. Mr. Pintacura was born March 30, 1923 in Flint, MI the son of Gaetano and Grace (Mattarella) Pintacura. Russell grew up in Flint, MI where he would enlist into the United States Army in January 1943, serving in World War II. Russell would marry Helen LaVerne Tharp on January 25, 1947. He would then work at Buick for 39 years, retiring in 1980. Surviving are: two sons, Russell (Toby) Pintacura, of Fenton, Donald Pintacura of FL; four daughters, Kathleen (Paul) Russell of Lapeer, Dianna (Joseph Santucci) Pintacura of Burton, Angela (Barry) Wallace of Swartz Creek, Gina (Brian) Moffit of Grand Blanc; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; son, Michael in 1975 and his wife of nearly 66 years Helen LaVerne.
