Ruth Colleen Spence

Spence, Ruth Colleen - Age 94, of Owosso, formerly of Flint Township, died June 18, 2025.

Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 5:30-9 PM Friday June 20, 2025; and 9 AM until the time of the funeral at 10 AM Saturday, June 21. Ruth was born August 28, 1930 in Alva, Kentucky, the daughter of Wilse Howard and Lusinda (Payne) Howard. She was a Coal miner's daughter. She raised four children on her own. She was married to Alonzo P. Spence on February 10, 1979; he preceded her in death June 19, 2018. Ruth worked as a Cashier at Hamady's and then Target.

She was a seamstress and wonderful cook (She made the best fried chicken). She enjoyed traveling, especially the beach. Ruth was a devout Christian. She was a loving mother (and mother-in-law), grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Surviving are: three children, Charles (Denise) Daniels, Susan Daniels, Janet Williams, three grandchildren, Robert Daniels, Matthew Adler, and Caroline Masters; five great-grandchildren, Avery, Egan, Owen, Emma, and Carter;

She was preceded in death by her parents Wilse and Lusinda Howard; husband, Alonzo Spence; son Roger S. Daniels; and siblings, Wilse Jr., Charles, Samuel, Ruby, Eunalee, and Leona.
