LEACH, Ruthann Elaine - Age 82, of Swartz Creek, passed away at home on October 19 after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 12 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 23, from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. and from 11 AM until the time of the service on Friday.

Ruthann was born on November 20, 1942, in Lum, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and Ethel (Irons) Newbold. She married her best friend and the love of her life, Milo (Mike) James Leach, on October 30, 1964, in Mason, Michigan. Ruthann will be remembered for her boundless kindness, selflessness, and the effortless way she made friends wherever life took her. Her heart overflowed with a fierce love for Jesus and for her family, which guided everything she did. Ruthann and her husband shared a deep bond and a love for travel, embracing countless adventures together that became treasured memories for all who knew them.

Surviving are: her husband of nearly 61 years, Milo; children, Steve Leach of Florida, Greg (Fran) Leach of Seneca, South Carolina, Marvena (Solomon) Noguera of St. Louis, Missouri; and Sue (Joel) Martin of Fenton, Michigan; grandchildren, Tracy, Joe, Megan, Jake, Nick, Stephanie, Erika, Felecia, Jimmy, Maizie, Sheena, and Emmerson; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kinson, Trinity, Willow, Charlotte, Caleb, Paxon, Koden, Juniper, Easton, Laura, Sage, Rory, and Amira; brothers, Paul Newbold, and Daniel (Lori) Newbold; nieces, nephews, and many extended family members.

A heartfelt thank you to her doctor at the Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute, along with the compassionate nurses and staff-many of whom became dear friends to her throughout her journey.

Ruthann was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ethel Newbold; brother, Dale Newbold; sister-in-law, Barbara (Price) Newbold, and sister, Roberta Tuttle. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute or to the Swartz Creek Church of the Nazarene, where Ruthann worshiped alongside her husband, Milo.
