Sally Ann Parker

Sally Ann Parker (née Hartman), age 81, of Swartz Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 2, 2026, at McLaren Hospital in Flint.

Born and raised in Flint, Sally spent her life building a community of friends and family. She met the love of her life, Phillip Parker, while they both worked at AC Spark Plug—Sally as a secretary and Phil as a pipefitter. They shared 57 wonderful years of marriage, happily living as best friends and faithfully fulfilling their promise to grow old together.

Sally was known for being a thoughtful friend and deeply loyal supporter of her family. She had a generous heart and deep faith. She cherished her church community where she found great warmth and fellowship. Over the years, she treasured many dear friendships, including Dorothy, Donna, Verna, and the other members of their neighborhood Birthday Club, as well as Susan Hall, Susan Vore, and her beloved best friend, Bert Fults, among many others.

Sally loved watching wildlife, especially loons, hummingbirds, cardinals, and foxes. She played a tough game of Scrabble, having learned from her dear mother-in-law. And if you spoke with her for even a moment, you would know that Sally found ultimate joy in her role as Grandma. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she delighted in every moment spent with them.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Phillip Parker; her son Jeff; her daughter, Holly, and son-in-law, David; her grandchildren, Tilly and Abe; and her nieces Jacquie and Kat. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel; her father, Robert; and her beloved big brother, Bob.

A service to celebrate Sally’s life will be held on February 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Swartz Creek Community Church, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Sally will be remembered for her kindness, her patience, her sense of humor, and the deep love she gave so freely to her family and friends. The service will be streamed on the Swartz Creek Community Church YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@sccommunitychurch/streams
